ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ title holders Buriram United FC have announced the appointment of Englishman Mark Jackson as the club’s new coach.

Jackson, who won the 2023/24 AFC Cup with A-League side Central Coast Mariners, takes over from Osmar Loss following the Brazilian’s departure earlier this month.

The 48-year-old takes charge with Buriram United fifth in Group A of the current Shopee Cup™ standings after back-to-back draws with Selangor FC and BG Pathum United FC in their opening two matches. They next face Công An Hà Nội FC on December 3.

Jackson’s first match in charge will be against Melbourne City from Australia on Tuesday in the league phase of the AFC Champions League Elite.

Buriram United’s win in last season’s Shopee Cup™ was one of four titles claimed by the club, who also lifted the Thai League 1 crown, the Thai FA Cup and the Thai League Cup.

They are top of the Thai League 1 standings after seven matches and lead Bangkok United FC by three points.
