The Thai League 1 champions had taken the lead through Goran Čaušić but Elbasan Rashani’s 84th minute goal levelled the scores before Max Caputo hit a 97th minute winner for the home side.

The loss was Buriram United’s second in a row in the competition and leaves the team in 11th position on three points with five rounds of group matches remaining.

In the AFC Champions League Two, Tampines Rovers FC maintained their perfect record in Group H with a 1-0 win over former Asian champions Pohang Steelers at Bishan Stadium after Hide Higashikawa gave the Singapore Premier League side a first minute lead.

The win over the side from Korea Republic, who won the Asian title in 1997, 1998 and 2009, moves Tampines Rovers onto nine points from three games and into a strong position to qualify for the next round.
