About Shopee Cup™
The third season of the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ kicks off with the Qualifying Round Play-Offs on September 4, 2026 and will conclude with the final on June 30, 2027.
The 2026/27 season features an expanded field of 16 clubs, up from 14 last season and the introduction of a quarter-finals phase, increasing the total number of matches from 40 to 56. Buriram United FC of Thailand return as defending champions after retaining the title with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Malaysia’s Selangor FC in the 2025/26 final.

Qualifying Round Play-Offs
Four clubs representing Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines compete in home-and-away Qualifying Round Play-Offs for two places in the Group Stage.
The team with the higher aggregate score in each tie advances. If the scores are level after the second leg, extra time and a penalty shoot-out will determine the winner.
Group Stage
Fourteen teams were drawn into two groups of seven at the Official Draw on June 5, 2026. Each club plays six matches in a single round-robin format (home or away) with the top four teams in each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
Knock-Out Stage
The quarter-finals are played as single-match ties on a home-or-away basis, while the semi-finals and final are contested over two home-and-away legs.
Shopee Cup™ Season 2026/27 Participating Clubs
The Shopee Cup™ features the designated national league champions and cup winners, (or in certain instances national league runners-up), of Cambodia (one team), Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam (two teams each) and the defending champions. The national league champions of Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines will compete in the Qualifying Round Play-Offs for two further Group Stage places.
Qualifying Round Play-Offs
Ezra FC (Laos)
Lao League 1 champions Ezra FC return to the Qualifying Round Play-Offs after successfully defending their domestic title in 2025/26. The club also gained regional experience through appearances in the AFC Challenge League and Shopee Cup™ last season.
Kasuka FC (Brunei Darussalam)
Kasuka FC are competing in the Shopee Cup™ Qualifying Round Play-Offs for a third successive season. The club featured in each of the first two editions and recorded their first Shopee Cup™ victory during the 2025/26 campaign.
Manila Digger FC (Philippines)
Philippines Football League champions Manila Digger FC make their Shopee Cup™ debut following a successful 2025/26 campaign. The Diggers also reached the AFC Challenge League semi-finals last season.
Shan United FC (Myanmar)
Shan United FC secured their place in the competition after winning a seventh Myanmar National League title in 2025/26. The Taunggyi-based club have won seven championships since 2017 and bring previous Shopee Cup™ experience into the Play-Offs.
Group Stage
Buriram United FC (Thailand)
Buriram United FC enter the 2026/27 season as the Shopee Cup™’s first back-to-back champions after defeating Selangor FC 3-1 on aggregate in last season’s final. They also won Thai League 1 and the Thai FA Cup in 2025/26.
Borneo FC Samarinda (Indonesia)
A runners-up finish in the 2025/26 Indonesian Super League secured Borneo FC Samarinda a return to the Shopee Cup™. The club also won the Liga 1 Regular Series in 2023/24 and featured in the inaugural Shopee Cup™.
Công An Hà Nội FC (Vietnam)
The 2024/25 Shopee Cup™ runners-up Công An Hà Nội FC qualify for their third appearance after winning the 2025/26 V.League 1 title. The Hanoi-based side won six of seven matches on their way to the 2024/25 final before losing to Buriram United on penalties following a 5-5 aggregate draw.
Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (Malaysia)
Johor Darul Ta’zim FC claimed their 12th consecutive Malaysia Super League title and lifted the Malaysia Cup in 2025/26. Last season, JDT also reached the Shopee Cup™ semi-finals and advanced to the AFC Champions League Elite quarter-finals for the first time.
Kuching City FC (Malaysia)
Kuching City FC join the Shopee Cup™ for the first time after finishing runners-up in both the 2025/26 Malaysia Super League and Malaysia Cup. Founded in 2015, qualification for the regional competition marks a significant milestone for the Sarawak-based club.
Lion City Sailors FC (Singapore)
Singapore Premier League and Singapore Cup winners Lion City Sailors FC return after completing a domestic double in 2025/26. The Sailors also reached the AFC Champions League Two final in 2024/25 after overcoming Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Australia’s Sydney FC.
Persib Bandung (Indonesia)
A third consecutive Indonesian league title in 2025/26 earned Persib Bandung their first Shopee Cup™ appearance. Founded in 1919, the Bandung-based club also reached the AFC Champions League Two Round of 16 last season.
PKR Svay Rieng FC (Cambodia)
PKR Svay Rieng FC won a third consecutive Cambodian Premier League title in 2025/26 to earn another Shopee Cup™ appearance. The Cambodian champions also reached the AFC Challenge League final in each of the past two seasons.
Port FC (Thailand)
Port FC qualified for their Shopee Cup™ debut after finishing runners-up in Thai League 1 and winning the Thai League Cup in 2025/26. The Bangkok-based side also reached the AFC Champions League Two Round of 16 in 2024/25.
Ratchaburi FC (Thailand)
Ratchaburi FC enter the Shopee Cup™ for the first time after finishing third in Thai League 1 in 2025/26. The Dragons also reached the AFC Champions League Two quarter-finals after eliminating Indonesia’s Persib Bandung in the Round of 16.
Tampines Rovers FC (Singapore)
Tampines Rovers FC qualified after finishing runners-up in the 2025/26 Singapore Premier League. The Stags return for their second Shopee Cup™ campaign after recording two Group Stage victories on their competition debut last season.
Ho Chi Minh City Police FC (Vietnam)
Ho Chi Minh City Police FC make their Shopee Cup™ debut after winning the 2025/26 Vietnamese National Cup with a 2-1 victory over Ninh Bình FC in the final. They join V.League 1 champions Công An Hà Nội FC as Vietnam’s representatives in the competition.
