Johor Darul Ta’zim FC capped a dominant weekend for ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ contenders after cruising to a 5–0 victory over Sabah FC in the Malaysia FA Cup final on Sunday.

Jairo da Silva put JDT ahead in the eighth minute before an own goal by Sabah defender Rawilson Batuil doubled the scoreline in the 20th minute. Da Silva added his second of the night for JDT three minutes later.

Óscar Arribas and Manuel Hidalgo went onto the scoresheet as well in the second half as the Southern Tigers completed an emphatic display to lift the trophy for a record fourth consecutive year in convincing fashion.

In the Thai League 1, BG Pathum United FC delivered a commanding derby performance to secure a 3–0 home victory over Muangthong United FC and remain firmly in the top five of the standings.

Chanathip Songkrasin opened the scoring in the 20th minute and was later named Player of the Match, before Tomoyuki Doi added further goals in the 41st and 65th minutes to move BG Pathum United onto 25 points from 14 matches.

Buriram United FC strengthened their grip on top spot by edging Port FC 1–0 at home to extend their lead in the title race.

Goran Čaušić struck in the first minute of added time to lift the defending champions onto 37 points from 14 matches and maintain their advantage at the summit.

Ayutthaya United FC recorded a notable 3–1 home win over Bangkok United FC to dent the visitors’ push near the top end of the standings.

Everton Gonçalves had given Bangkok United FC the lead in the 43rd minute before Philippe Maia’s own goal early in the second half and a Caíque Lemos strike in the 66th minute turned the contest, with Diego Carioca adding a third deep into stoppage time.

The result leaves Bangkok United FC fourth on 26 points.

In Singapore Cup action, Lion City Sailors FC secured a healthy first leg advantage with a 4–1 victory over Balestier Khalsa FC at Toa Payoh Stadium.

Bailey Wright struck in the 26th minute before Lennart Thy added a second eight minutes later, with Shawal Anuar scoring shortly after the restart and Anderson Lopes completing the scoring in the 57th minute to secure a convincing win. 

Tampines Rovers FC also moved a step closer to the final after producing a dominant display to defeat Albirex Niigata (S) FC 4–0 away from home.

Hide Higashikawa, the current leading scorer in the Shopee Cup™ with five goals, broke the deadlock in the 56th minute before Joel Chew Joon Herng added a second 20 minutes later, with Trent Buhagiar and Talla Ndao scoring late on to complete a comprehensive victory.

The return legs for both semi-finals will be on December 20.

In the Cambodian Premier League, leaders Svay Rieng FC were held to a 2–2 draw by MOI Kompong Dewa after surrendering a two-goal advantage.

Min Ratanak struck just in first-half stoppage time and Ryo Fujii added a second in the 74th minute, though goals from Vanda Mon in the fourth and 43rd minutes ensured the points were shared as Svay Rieng FC remained top of the table.
