ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ champions Buriram United FC have parted company with coach Mário Silva, the club have announced.

The Portuguese coach leaves the Thunder Castle after less than two months in charge having been appointed in early September to replace ASEAN Shopee Cup™ winner Mark Jackson.

“Buriram United FC would like to thank Mário Silva for his time as a part of the Thunder Castle army and wish him more success on the football path,” the club said in a social media post.

Silva was in charge for only 10 matches across all competitions, winning four, drawing four and losing twice. He oversaw one game in the 2026/27 ASEAN Shopee Cup™, a 0-0 draw with Borneo FC Samarinda.

Buriram United have yet to announce who will replace Silva as head coach with the club due to host Japan’s Kashima Antlers in the AFC Champions League Elite on Wednesday.

The defending champions next face Ho Chi Minh City Police FC in Group A of the ASEAN Shopee Cup™ on November 18.
