Malaysia handed Palestine a 1-0 defeat in Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Tuesday as Peter Cklamovski’s side completed back-to-back wins in the September international window.

Johor Darul Ta’zim FC striker João Figueiredo netted after just three minutes to earn the win for the Malaysians, who also defeated Singapore 2-1 in a meeting at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Thursday.

Figueiredo had also been on target against the Singaporeans, scoring nine minutes into the second half after Stuart Wilkin had given his side in the 25th minute. Ilhan Fandi netted a consolation for the Singaporeans, striking from distance with 18 minutes left.

Singapore, under interim coach Gavin Lee, then drew 1-1 with Myanmar on Tuesday with Ilhan on the scoresheet again.

Thailand, meanwhile, lost 1-0 to Iraq in the final of the King’s Cup in Bangkok on Sunday with Masatada Ishii’s side succumbing due to a solitary goal by Mohanad Ali 15 minutes from time.

The seven-times ASEAN champions had handed Fiji a 3-0 defeat in the semi-finals on Thursday to progress to the decider.

Indonesia followed up a 6-0 thrashing of Chinese Taipei on Friday with a 0-0 draw against Lebanon on Sunday as Patrick Kluivert’s side continue their preparations for the next phase of Asia’s qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
