ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ participants Port FC have appointed Bozidar Bandovic as their new head coach.
The Montenegrin is a familiar figure in Thai football, having previously enjoyed a successful spell in charge of Buriram United FC.
Bandovic guided Buriram United to consecutive Thai League titles in 2017 and 2018, with the club also reaching the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League under his leadership in 2018.
He has since held coaching roles with Chennaiyin FC in India, Hanoi FC in Vietnam and PT Prachuap FC in Thailand, as well as Serbian sides Vojvodina and Radnicki 1923.
Bandovic takes charge of Port FC ahead of their maiden Shopee Cup™ campaign, with the Thai side drawn in Group B alongside Johor Darul Ta’zim FC, Persib Bandung, Lion City Sailors FC, Công An Hà Nội FC and Shan United FC.
Port will begin their Group Stage campaign at home against Persib Bandung on October 8.
