Thailand's Buriram United are set to face Công An Hà Nội FC of Vietnam in the final of the inaugural ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ later this month after the two sides progressed from the semi-finals in thrilling circumstances.

While Công An were the first side to make it to the final after coming back from behind to defeat Indonesia’s PSM Makassar 2-1 on aggregate, Buriram reached the title showdown after a goalless draw with fellow Thai League 1 side BG Pathum United in the second leg which secured a 3-1 aggregate triumph.

With the semi-finals now behind us, ASEAN United FC takes a look at the goals that were scored in the Shopee Cup™ semi-final second legs and asks you, the fans of the beautiful game, to pick your favourite among the lot by voting in the poll at the bottom of the article.

Hugo Gomes (Công An Hà Nội FC)

Facing one of the best teams in the Shopee Cup™ and having to come back from a 1-0 defeat in the first leg, Công An Hà Nội FC were up against it as they took on PSM Makassar in the return fixture at Hang Day Stadium. With them failing to break down a resolute PSM defence despite dominating the first 45 minutes, the Công An players and supporters, who gathered in numbers, were growing restless when Hugo Gomes provided the spark to initiate a famous comeback.

The Brazilian centre-back was at the right place at the right time to meet a corner kick from Công An talisman Nguyen Quang Hai that was flicked on with his head towards the far post by Phan Van Duc. And Gomes produced a sublime finish to turn the ball home only three minutes into the second period as the V.League 1 side levelled the two-legged tie at 1-1.

Bui Hoang Viet Anh (Công An Hà Nội FC)

While Hugo Gomes’ equaliser in the 48th minute restored parity in the two-legged tie, Công An Hà Nội FC still needed another to complete their comeback in front of their home supporters. And it only took them 12 more minutes to find that all-important goal through Vietnam international defender Bui Hoang Viet Anh, who sent the Hang Day Stadium into raptures.

The breakthrough came from another corner kick that wreaked havoc inside the PSM Makassar box and with the Indonesian defence failing to clear their lines, Jason Pendant picked up the loose ball on the left-hand side and crossed in towards the far post where Viet Anh was waiting. The defender brought the ball down and produced a finish that would be the envy of even the best strikers past PSM goalkeeper Reza Arya to send the Vietnamese side through to a final against Buriram United which will be played over two legs on 14 and 21 May.
