ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ semi-finalists Johor Darul Ta’zim FC equalled the world record of 108 consecutive domestic league matches unbeaten after closing out their Malaysia Super League campaign with a 14-1 victory over Kelantan TRW FC on Sunday.

The Southern Tigers, who have not lost a league match since April 2021, matched Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas’ global mark while also completing a fourth consecutive unbeaten league season.

The league champions were ruthless from the opening whistle as Bérgson da Silva struck six times while Manuel Hidalgo added a hat-trick in a one-sided display at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

Antonio Glauder, Stuart Wilkin, Yago César, Mohamed Syamer Kutty Abba and Teto Martín were also on target as JDT completed the biggest victory in Malaysia Super League history and finished the season unbeaten.

Fellow Shopee Cup™ semi-finalists Buriram United FC were forced to settle for a late 1-1 draw against Lamphun Warrior FC in Thai League 1 having already comfortably retained the league title.

After a tightly contested encounter at Chang Arena, Robert Žulj broke the deadlock in the 79th minute to put Buriram in front before Surat Suriyachai struck in the 94th minute to rescue a point for the visitors.

BG Pathum United FC confirmed their fourth place finish with a convincing 3-0 home victory over PT Prachuap FC while Bangkok United FC were held to a 1-1 draw away to Rayong FC to finish the season in fifth in the standings.

Port FC finished in second place and completed their campaign with a 4-1 win over Ayutthaya United FC with Ratchaburi FC in third following their 1-0 win over Kanchanaburi FC.

In Vietnam, Nam Định FC suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat away to league leaders Công An Hà Nội FC in a dramatic V.League 1 clash.

Trần Ngọc Sơn gave Nam Định the lead in the 16th minute before Trần Văn Đạt added a second in the 27th minute to stun the hosts early on.

However, Công An Hà Nội responded through Nguyễn Đình Bắc in the 37th minute before Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh levelled the scores in the 68th minute.

Nguyễn Đình Bắc then converted a late penalty in the 89th minute to complete the comeback victory.

The result moves Công An Hà Nội to the cusp of winning the title as Mano Pölking’s side hold an 11 point lead over second-placed Viettel FC with four matches left. Nam Định remain sixth in the standings.

In Singapore, Lion City Sailors FC suffered their first league defeat of the campaign after falling 2-0 at home to Albirex Niigata FC (S) on Sunday.

The loss sees the Sailors’ lead cut to five points by Tampines Rovers FC although Jesus Casas’ side have already been crowned Singapore Premier League winners for the second season in a row. Tampines Rovers FC defeated Hougang United FC 1-0 earlier in the day.
