Ninh Bình FC and Công An HCMC FC will contest the 2025/26 Vietnamese Cup Final after both sides recorded impressive victories in their semi-final ties on Thursday.
Aside from hoisting a domestic crown, the Vietnamese Cup champions will also earn a coveted place in the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ 2026/27.
Ninh Bình secured their place in the final with a commanding 4-1 win over Thể Công Viettel FC. Gia Hưng Phạm handed the hosts an early advantage in the 14th minute before Nguyễn Hoàng Đức doubled their lead three minutes before half-time.
Viettel reduced the deficit through a Lucão penalty in the 84th minute, but Ninh Bình responded strongly in the closing stages as Bảo Toàn Trần restored their two-goal cushion three minutes later before Fred Friday completed the scoring in stoppage time.
The victory continued an outstanding season for Ninh Bình, who have already secured promotion to the V.League and are now one match away from lifting the Vietnamese Cup.
Joining them in the final are Công An HCMC, who defeated Nam Định FC 4-2 at Thiên Trường Stadium.
The visitors raced into a four-goal lead before the break through strikes from Raphael Utzig (18'), Matheus Felipe (23'), Lee Williams (37') and Minh Gia Bao Khong (43') to take firm control of the contest.
Nam Định mounted a second-half response as Nguyễn Xuân Son pulled a goal back in the 71st minute before Lý Công Hoàng Anh added another eight minutes later, but Công An HCMC held on to secure their place in the final.
The result ended Nam Định's hopes of domestic cup success after the club's strong performances in regional competition, where they reached the semi-finals of the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ 2025/26 before being eliminated by Malaysia's Selangor FC.
Sunday's Vietnamese Cup Final will now take centre stage, with Ninh Bình and Công An HCMC set to battle not only for the trophy but also for a place in the Shopee Cup™ 2026/27.
