ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ participants PKR Svay Rieng FC were denied a first leg advantage in their AFC Challenge League semi-final on Thursday as Pa Ousman Gai’s 85th minute header earned Manila Digger FC a 1-1 draw in Phnom Penh.

Portuguese playmaker Tiago Alves had given Matt McConkey’s side the lead with a close range finish in the fourth minute but the Cambodia Premier League champions were unable to build on their advantage despite dominating throughout.

The teams will meet again in the second leg in Manila next Thursday with Svay Rieng attempting to reach consecutive finals having lost in last season’s decider to Turkmenistan’s FK Arkadag.

Bangkok United FC, meanwhile, will take a 1-0 lead into the second leg of their AFC Champions League Two semi-final against Japan’s Gamba Osaka after a 15th minute penalty by Muhsen Al-Ghassani earned Totchtawan Sripan’s side a narrow win.

A handball by Shinnosuke Nakatani gifted Bangkok United the spot-kick from which Al-Ghassani converted and the Japanese side’s prospects were further hit when Nakatani, the Gamba captain, was sent off with 16 minutes remaining.

Bangkok United will host the second leg of the semi-final at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Johor Darul Ta’zim FC moved into the Malaysia Cup final with a 4-1 win over Kuala Lumpur FC on Tuesday completing an 8-1 aggregate victory.

Bérgson da Silva scored twice for Xisco Muñoz’s side to set up a meeting with either fellow Shopee Cup™ participants Selangor FC or Kuching City FC in the decider.

Lion City Sailors FC extended their lead in the Singapore Premier League to eight points over second-placed Tampines Rovers FC with a 4-0 win over Tanjong Pagar FC that came through goals from Lennart Thy, Bart Ramselaar, Bailey Wright and Diogo Costa.
