The dust is still settling on a thrilling final of the inaugural ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ where Buriram United of Thailand defeated Vietnam’s Công An Hà Nội FC on penalties after a title clash that saw momentum swing one way and then the other multiple times.

After the two-legged final ended 5-5 on aggregate, Buriram goalkeeper Chatchai Bootprom made three vital saves in the penalty shootout to hand the first-ever Shopee Cup™ title to the Thai League 1 champions and bring down the curtains on an incredible campaign.

After 115 goals scored across 36 matches during the tournament, ASEAN United FC now asks you, the fans, to pick which among the following goals deserve to be named the AirAsia Goal of the Season by voting in the poll at the bottom of this article.

Lucas Crispim - Final 2nd Leg - Buriram United

With Buriram United staring down at a defeat in the closing stages of the Shopee Cup™ final second leg regulation time, Lucas Crispim handed a lifeline for the Thais with a stunning goal. The Brazilian conjured a moment of magic when he unleashed a ferocious free-kick from 30 yards out that soared over the wall and cannoned in off the underside of the bar to send the Buriram fans into delirium. It was a goal befitting of the final and one that helped Osmar Loss’ side force extra time in the title clash, which they went on to win on penalties.

Jason Pendant - Final 2nd Leg - Công An Hà Nội FC

Công An Hà Nội FC opened the scoring in the second leg of the Shopee Cup™ final and took a 3-2 aggregate lead in the all-important with a brilliant team goal that was scored by Jason Pendant. The French-born full-back began the move himself as he combined first with Leo Artur and then Nguyen Quang Hai with the Công An captain playing a delightful backheel to Pendant who continued the run into the box and lashed a powerful strike past Chatchai Bootprom. Pendant’s goal provided the perfect start for all the drama that unfolded in a title showdown that will be remembered for ages.

Guilherme Bissoli - Semi-Final 1st Leg - Buriram United

Guilherme Bissoli lit up the Shopee Cup™ stage with a sensational strike that sealed Buriram United’s 3-1 win over BG Pathum United in the semi-final first leg. The move began with Buriram skipper Supachai Chaided driving forward from his own half before slipping the ball out to the left for Bissoli. The Brazilian attacker cut inside and created some space for himself before unleashing a stunning strike from 25 yards out that flew past goalkeeper Saranon Anuin and into the net. Bissoli’s goal all but secured a place in the final for Buriram as the second leg between the two Thais sides ended goalless.

Akhyar Rashid - Matchday Five - Terengganu FC

Akhyar Rashid produced a brilliant individual goal to hand Terengganu FC the lead against BG Pathum United in the second half of their final Group A match. The 25-year-old Malaysia international capitalised on a defensive error to break down the left wing, drove into the box and skipped past his marker. Just as it looked like he would cross from near the byline, he shifted the ball onto his right foot and curled a precise shot over goalkeeper Pisan Dorkmaikaew and into the far corner from a very right angle. It was a moment of real quality from Akhyar though the Turtles failed to progress.

Le Van Do - Matchday Five - Công An Hà Nội FC

Le Van Do continued his impressive run of form in the Shopee Cup™, scoring for the fourth consecutive game to help Công An Hà Nội FC edge past Borneo FC Samarinda 3-2 and preserve their perfect record of five wins from five games in the group stage of the competition. The 23-year-old opened the scoring in the 20th minute with a moment of brilliance – shrugging off his marker with a sharp drop of the shoulder before unleashing a powerful left-footed strike from outside the box that hit the top corner. Van Do continued to be a big influence throughout the tournament for the eventual runners-up.

Bounphachan Bounkong - Matchday Five - PKR Svay Rieng FC

Bounphachan Bounkong turned from villain to hero for PKR Svay Rieng FC on Matchday Five of the Shopee Cup™. He had given away possession in the lead-up to Shan United FC’s opening goal, but the Laos international bounced back in style as he scored twice to help the Cambodians post a 4-2 win. His second of the game was a thunderous strike from around 22 yards that flew past goalkeeper Pyae Phyo Thu and into the net. It was a moment of quality from the 24-year-old, who helped Svay Rieng finish a creditable third in the group with two wins and a draw.

Nermin Haljeta - Matchday Three - PSM Makassar

Nermin Haljeta needed just 38 seconds to make his mark as PSM Makassar edged PKR Svay Rieng FC 1-0 in Phnom Penh to move top of Group A on Matchday Three. The Slovenian striker timed his run to perfection to latch onto a through ball from Victor Dethan and, spotting Svay Rieng goalkeeper Vireak Dara some way off his line, he calmly lifted his finish over the Cambodian shot-stopper. It was a calm, composed and clinical finish from the 27-year-old to secure three points in a tightly contested encounter for PSM, who progressed to the semi-finals as Group A runners-up.
