Striker Chrigor, who was on target in Selangor’s 1-1 draw with ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ champions Buriram United last week, netted a hat-trick for his club on Wednesday as the Red Giants handed Terengganu FC a 5-2 defeat in the Malaysian Super League.

The Brazilian put his side in front in the 17th minute and Alvin Fortes doubled the advantage seven minutes later before Chrigor netted his second in the 36th minute. He then completed his hat-trick two minutes into first half injury time.

Goals from Gabriel Silva and Junior Ngong Sam hauled Terengganu back into contention but a 96th minute effort by Izwan Yuslan sealed the points for Katsuhito Kinoshi's team.

The result takes Selangor up to fourth in the Malaysia Super League standings, four points behind current leaders Kuala Lumpur City FC.

Meanwhile, an own goal from Alain Ayenga followed by a strike from Caio Cesar, both in the second half, earned Nam Định FC a 2-1 come-from-behind win over PVF-CAND in the V.League 1. The result was Nam Định’s second win in the first three games of the season.

In Myanmar, defending champions Shan United FC handed Dagon Port a 3-0 defeat in the National League through goals from Jordan Hamilton, Ryuji Hirota and Mark Sekyi.

On Monday, Lion City Sailors FC made a winning start to the defense of their Singapore Premier League title with a 2-1 win over Hougang United FC.

Maxime Lestienne struck twice for the champions either side of Farhan Zulkifli’s 29th minute equaliser for the visitors at Our Tampines Hub on Monday to give Aleksandar Rankovic’s team a perfect start to the new domestic campaign.

The Belgian put his side in front in the 11th minute with a perfectly placed finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area but Farhan slid his low shot beyond goalkeeper Ivan Susak to level 18 minutes later.

Lestienne, however, sealed the points for his side with another top-class finish, bending his left-foot shot around Zharfan Rohaizad to hit the winner just over a minute after the restart.
