ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ participants Công An Hà Nội FC secured an historic 3-2 win over Chinese Super League giants Shanghai Port FC on Tuesday as Mano Pölking’s side secured their first-ever win in the AFC Champions League Elite.

Brayan Perea scored twice either side of a strike from Léo Artur as the V.League 1 champions downed the four-times Chinese champions in Shanghai to move up to 11th in the 16-team standings. The top eight qualify for the tournament’s knockout rounds.

“Công An Hà Nội today made history,” said Perea. “The team played very well against a good team that has good players but today, thank you God, we go back to Vietnam with a victory.”

Johor Darul Ta’zim FC climbed up to fourth in the standings with a 3-0 win over fellow ASEAN Shopee Cup™ participants Port FC with second half goals from Jonathan Silva, Bérgson da Silva and Stoichkov maintaining Xisco Muñoz’s side’s unbeaten record.

Ratchaburi FC held Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol to a 0-0 draw while Shopee Cup™ champions Buriram United FC drew 1-1 with Gamba Osaka, last season’s winners of the AFC Champions League Two title.

Eduardo Mancha gave Buriram United a 39th minute lead but veteran playmaker Takashi Usami levelled in the 66th minute for the home side to leave Mario Silva’s squad still looking for their first win in this season’s competition.

“I’m proud of my team, to come to Japan and perform like that was impressive,” said Buriram United captain Kenny Dougall. “When you take the lead and don't win it’s always a bit disappointing but we have another game next week.”

In the AFC Champions League Two, Persib Bandung continued their impressive start to Group E with a 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory FC to remain on top of the standings with nine points at the halfway point in the group phase.

Lion City Sailors FC handed hosts Adelaide United FC a 2-0 defeat in Group F through late goals from Hugo Gomes and Lennart Thy, with the win taking the Singapore Premier League outfit into first place in the standings.

PKR Svay Rieng FC moved up to second in Group G as Matt McConkey’s team dished out a 5-1 loss to Tampines Rovers FC with Tiago Alves scoring twice for the visitors at Jalan Besar Stadium. Tampines Rovers are bottom of the table having yet to secure a point.

Kuching City FC, meanwhile, slipped to a 1-0 loss in South Korea to Gangwon FC in Group H with Cho Byeong-chan scoring the only goal of the game in the 28th minute.
