ASEAN ROUND-UP: SELANGOR HIT SIX AWAY FROM HOME AS BURIRAM UNITED RETURN TO WINNING WAYS

ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ semi-finalists Selangor FC continued their build-up to next week’s semi-final clash with Nam Định FC following an emphatic 6-0 away win over Kelantan TRW FC in the Malaysia Super League.

Selangor took control early in the match as Kim Ji-ho opened the scoring in the 25th minute. 

Chrigor Moraes then struck twice in quick succession, finding the net in the 30th minute from the penalty spot before adding another three minutes later to put Selangor firmly in command at the break. 

Faris Shah Rosli’s own goal in the 58th minute extended the advantage for the visitors before Alvin Fortes added a brace in the 64th and 66th minutes to complete a dominant display.

In Thailand, already-crowned Thai League 1 champions Buriram United FC came from behind to secure a 3-1 away victory over Kanchanaburi Power FC as they prepare to face Johor Darul Ta’zim FC of Malaysia in the  Shopee Cup™ semi-finals first leg next week.

Chayapipat Suppasuch gave the hosts the lead in the 23rd minute, but Buriram United responded after the interval with Guilherme Bissoli equalising in the 47th minute. 

Pansa Hemviboon put the visitors ahead in the 73rd minute before Sasalak Haiprakhon sealed the win six minutes later.

Bangkok United FC suffered a setback after falling to a 2-0 defeat against Chiangrai United FC.

Itsuki Enomoto struck twice just before half-time, scoring in the 41st minute and again in stoppage time to hand Chiangrai all three points and leave Bangkok United fifth in the standings.

BG Pathum United FC secured a narrow 1-0 home win over Nakhon Ratchasima FC, with Patrik Gustavsson netting the decisive goal in the 83rd minute to keep his side firmly in the top four.

In Vietnam, Nam Định FC were held to a 1-1 draw away to Becamex TP.HCM in V.League 1.

Nguyễn Trần Việt Cường gave the hosts an early lead in the third minute, but Giáp Tuấn Dương struck in the 68th minute to earn the Shopee Cup™ semi-finalists a share of the points.

League leaders Công An Hà Nội FC, meanwhile, delivered an entertaining 4-2 home win over Sông Lam Nghệ An.

Nguyễn Đình Bắc was the standout performer, scoring in the 19th and 34th minutes before completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 56th minute, while Phạm Minh Phúc added another in the 37th minute. 

Michael Olaha responded for SLNA with goals in the 45th minute and deep into stoppage time but the hosts had already done enough to secure all three points.

In Singapore, Tampines Rovers FC delivered the most emphatic result of the round with an 8-1 home victory over Young Lions.

Sérgio Mendonça briefly levelled for the visitors in the 32nd minute after an early opener from Tampines Rovers’ Trent Bhagiar, but the hosts ran riot thereafter, with goals from Irfan Najeeb, Shah Saharan (two goals), Koya Kazama, Glenn Kweh, Ong Yu En and Hide Higashikawa.

Lion City Sailors FC remained in control at the top of the Singapore Premier League with a 3-0 home win over Geylang International FC.

Anderson Lopes opened the scoring in the 36th minute before Rui Pires doubled the advantage in the 46th minute. Lennart Thy then added a third from the penalty spot in the 68th minute to wrap up a comfortable victory.

In the Philippines Football League, DH Cebu FC suffered a 4-0 defeat away to Manila Digger FC.

Pa Ousman Gai struck twice in the 11th minute and 65th minute, while Baboucarr Touray (69th) and Saikou Ceesay (88th) completed the scoring as Manila Digger strengthened their position near the top of the table.

In Cambodia, PKR Svay Rieng FC were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Nagaworld FC in the Championship Round.

China gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute, but Kwame Peprah converted a late penalty in the 89th minute to rescue a point for the league leaders.
