ASEAN ROUND-UP: JOHOR DARUL TA’ZIM CROWNED MALAYSIA SUPER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS AGAIN

ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ participants Johor Darul Ta’zim FC have been crowned Malaysia Super League champions for a record-extending 12th time with a 3-0 win over DPMM FC.

JDT clinched the championship with five matches remaining having built an unassailable 15-point lead over second-placed Selangor FC, who have played one game more than Xisco Muñoz’s outfit. 

The Johor side have won all 19 league matches played so far, continuing their remarkable domestic dominance.

Ager Aketxe opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before Óscar Arribas Pasero doubled the advantage in the 74th minute. Marcos Guilherme completed the victory three minutes later to seal another comfortable win for the Southern Tigers.

Selangor, meanwhile, edged Kuala Lumpur City FC 3–2 in an entertaining encounter to remain in second place, two points ahead of Kuching City FC.

Faisal Halim gave Selangor the lead in the 11th minute before Mamadou Diarra doubled the advantage in the 60th minute. 

Hugo Boumous made it 3-0 in the 70th minute but Madger Gomes pulled one back for KL City two minutes later and Safawi Rasid added another in the 85th minute, although Selangor held on for victory.

Buriram United FC strengthened their grip on top spot in Thai League 1 with a commanding 5–0 victory over Chonburi FC.

Guilherme Bissoli opened the scoring in the 16th minute before doubling the advantage in the 33rd minute.

Rubén Sánchez added a third in first-half stoppage time while Sandy Walsh struck two minutes after the restart. Supachai Chaided completed the scoring deep into stoppage time.

Elsewhere in Thailand, BG Pathum United FC were held to a 1–1 draw by Rayong FC.

Raniel gave BG Pathum United the lead in the 21st minute, but Anon Amornlerdsak equalised shortly after the restart in the 48th minute to secure a share of the points for the hosts.

More late drama unfolded as Bangkok United FC were held to a 1–1 draw by Port FC.

Rivaldinho put Bangkok United ahead in first-half stoppage time before Matheus Lins struck deep into stoppage time at the end of the match to rescue a point for Port.

In Vietnam’s V.League 1, Công An Hà Nội FC recorded a 2–1 victory over Ninh Binh FC.

Alan Grafite put the visitors ahead in the second minute before Lê Phạm Thành Long doubled the lead in the 63rd minute. Gia Hưng Phạm pulled one back deep into stoppage time, but Công An Hà Nội held on for the win.

Elsewhere in Vietnam, Nam Định FC secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Thanh Hóa FC to remain on top of the standings.

With the contest finely balanced, Chadrac Akolo struck in the 78th minute to seal all three points for the hosts, who lead the table by four points from Viettel FC.

In Cambodia, PKR Svay Rieng FC recorded a 2–0 victory over Angkor Tiger FC in the Cambodian Premier League Championship Round.

Patrick struck in the 19th minute to give the hosts the lead before adding his second of the night in the 79th minute.

In Singapore, Lion City Sailors FC continued their strong form with a 3–0 victory over Balestier Khalsa FC.

Diogo Costa opened the scoring in the 33rd minute before Lennart Thy doubled the advantage seven minutes later. Anderson Lopes wrapped up the win from the penalty spot in the 85th minute.

Meanwhile in Myanmar’s National League, Shan United FC secured a 2–1 win over Mahar United FC.

Zin Hein Kyaw gave Shan United the lead in the 22nd minute but Patrick Ella equalised in the 66th minute. However, Sa Aung Pyae Ko struck the winner in the 84th minute.

DH Cebu FC and Kaya-Iloilo FC shared the points following a 1–1 draw in the Philippines Football League.

Kaito Asano opened the scoring in the 16th minute for DH Cebu but Mar Diano equalised in the 31st minute.
