ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ title holders Buriram United FC slipped to their first loss in the 2025/26 Thai League 1 campaign on Sunday as Mark Jackson’s side suffered a 4-2 defeat against 10-man Chonburi FC.

Dutch striker Oege-Sietse van Lingen gave Chonburi a 16th-minute lead while the hosts were reduced to 10 men when Lesley Ablorh was given a straight red card 14 minutes later.

However, Jonathan Bolingi doubled Chonburi’s advantage three minutes into the second half before Guilherme Bissoli pulled one back for Buriram United five minutes later.

An own goal by Nattapong Sayriya levelled the scores in the 61st minute but Santipap Channgom restored Chonburi’s lead in the 86th minute and, 12 minutes into stoppage time, a penalty by Greg Houla secured the points for the home side.

The result sees Buriram’s lead in the standings trimmed to three points from Ratchaburi FC while Bangkok United FC are a further point behind following their 0-0 draw with Port MTI FC. BG Pathum United FC sit in fifth place following a 1-1 draw with Rayong FC.

Meanwhile, goals from Kwame Peprah and Nhean Sosidan earned PKR Svay Rieng FC a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC on Sunday to keep Matt McConkey’s side on top of the Cambodia Premier League.

Svay Rieng move onto 21 points and lead Angkor Tiger FC on goal difference with the defending champions having played eight games, one fewer than their nearest rivals.

In the Myanmar National League, Shan United FC cruised to a 4-0 win over Hantharwady United FC on Friday with goals from Hein Khun Kyaw Zin, Jordan Hamilton, Ko Sa Aung Pyae and Aung Ye Yint securing the points.
