DH Cebu FC picked up their first point of the 2025/26 ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup™ on Wednesday as the Philippines Football League side held Selangor FC to a 1-1 draw in Manila’s Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Rico Andes gave the home side the lead two minutes after the interval before Willian Lira levelled seven minutes later for the visitors, who had gone into the game on top of the group standings with four points.

The result moves Malaysia’s Selangor onto five points from three games in Group A while Cebu remain on the bottom of the standings despite collecting their first point of the campaign.

Lira saw his early attempt from inside the six-yard box blocked and Izwan Yuslan was denied by Cebu goalkeeper Rami Jeridi before Omid Musawi flashed his 12th minute shot across the face of goal as Selangor made a promising start.

But the visitors were almost caught out with a rapid Cebu counter-attack, Kalamullah Al Hafiz diving to his right to keep out Abdulfatohi Khudoidodzoda’s goal-bound strike before Musawi raced up to the other end to test Jeridi with a curling strike.

Mohammad Abualnadi thumped a long-range effort over the Cebu crossbar in the 26th minute and Jeridi kept out another attempt by Izwan with nine minutes left in the half.

Anderson Pinto shot across the Selangor goal as the interval approached and that effort presaged the home side taking the lead moments after the restart.

Abou Sy and Andes both rose to meet Esrom Paulos’ corner from the right in the 47th minute, with Andes appearing to have the last touch before the headed effort bounced over the Selangor goal line.

That advantage was to only last seven minutes, however, with Selangor pulling level when Lira shot through the Cebu defence from 12 yards out to finally beat Jeridi.

Second half substitute Chrigor Moraes dragged his attempt from 25 yards wide of the Cebu goal with 19 minutes remaining while Picha Autra hit the post with a scissor kick from the edge of the penalty area as Selangor pushed in vain for the winner.
