Vietnam were crowned the champions of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024 after they posted a 3-2 victory against Thailand in a thrilling second leg of the final at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday.

Around 47,000 supporters flocked to the arena in the Thai capital to see who would be crowned the champions of Southeast Asia and they were not disappointed as the tie produced some brilliant goals and moments that will live long in the memories of everyone who witnessed the exhilarating action.

With the 15th edition of the regional showpiece now wrapped up and a new champion crowned, ASEAN United FC lets you, the fans, decide which among these goals from the second leg of the title clash was the best of the lot by voting at the bottom of the article.

Pham Tuan Hai

Pham Tuan Hai had made only three appearances off the bench at the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ before Sunday – all coming during the group stage. But when handed his first start by Kim Sang-sik in the deciding second leg of the final, he emerged as the most influential player on the pitch to guide his country to their third title.

Tuan Hai gave Vietnam a 3-1 aggregate lead only eight minutes into the return leg. He found himself inside the box at the end of a Pham Xuan Manh free-kick and then had to produce a smart finish to nudge the ball past an onrushing Thailand goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai to give the Golden Star Warriors the upper hand early in the title decider.

Benjamin Davis

Thailand were far from their best in the first half of the second leg in front of their supporters, but Benjamin Davis gave them a lifeline and a chance to secure a third straight ASEAN Championship title when he equalised for the War Elephants with their first shot of the game in the 28th minute.

Doan Ngoc Tan misplaced a pass just outside his own box and 24-year-old Davis picked out the bottom corner with a brilliant first-time finish from 30 yards out despite a full-stretched dive from Vietnam goalkeeper Nguyen Dình Trieu, giving Thailand the belief to fight their way back into the tie.

Supachok Sarachat

Thailand levelled the two-legged final at 3-3 when Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo attacking midfielder Supachok Sarachat planted a stunning effort into the Vietnam goal in the 64th minute to spark wild celebrations on the field and in the stands at a packed Rajamangala Stadium.

After only a substitute appearance in the first leg, Supachok started for the Thais in their home fixture and found himself with some space far away from the goal just past the hour mark. The 26-year-old still pulled the trigger and was rewarded as his looping, curling strike found the top corner – his second goal in an ASEAN Championship final having also netted against Indonesia in 2020.

Nguyen Hai Long

Despite going a man down after a red card to Weerathep Pomphun, Thailand had threatened to take the final to extra time after going close on a few occasions in second-half stoppage time, but Nguyen Hai Long put the 2024 title clash to bed with a goal from the halfway line.

In a final throw of the dice, Thailand goalkeeper Patiwat went up for a corner deep in stoppage time, allowing Nguyen Quang Hai to launch a counter. Hai Long had an open goal to aim at, but finding himself wide on the left and near the halfway line, it still needed composure and accuracy from the midfielder to seal the win for Vietnam.
