Seven-times ASEAN Championship winners Thailand will take on regional rivals Indonesia at the AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia in January after the two ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026 participating nations were drawn to face one another in Group F of the championship.

The pair were handed a difficult draw after being placed alongside defending champions Qatar, who have won the last two titles, and four-times winners Japan in the group phase of the competition, which will kick off on January 7.

Reigning ASEAN Championship title holders Vietnam, meanwhile, will play in Group E alongside the United Arab Emirates, Korea Republic and either Lebanon or Yemen, who are due to meet in June to determine the final qualifier for the 24-nation tournament.

Singapore, who will be appearing at the tournament for the first time since 1984, have been drawn in Group D, which features 2015 winners Australia, 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers Iraq and Tajikistan, who reached the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Cup in 2023.

Prior to the AFC Asian Cup commitments, the quartet will feature in the ASEAN Hyundai Cup™ 2026, which will kick off on July 24 with the final due to be played over two legs on August 23 and 26.
